Event Descriptions
- Estlow Center Anvil of Freedom lecture (Opening session)
The Estlow Lecture began in 1993, and the Anvil of Freedom award first was presented in 1997. The award is given to the Estlow lecturer in recognition of his or her superior leadership and commitment to ethics, integrity and democratic freedoms, especially the protection of the First Amendment.
- FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) workshop
A training program for advocates, journalists, students and other interested communities on how to use federal and state laws such the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to uncover facts about the interplay between local governments and the larger immigration system.
- Community roundtable
Community leaders working with immigrant communities share their expertise and mingle with people who are developing multimedia stories.
