Meet the Team
Director
Carlos Jimenez
Carlos’ research broadly examines the role of media (mobile phones, social media, community radio, and automation) in the everyday lives of low-wage immigrant workers. In California he helped farmworkers build a community radio station from the ground up. You can tune in to Radio Indígena mixteco.org/radio. His research in Denver currently focuses on the role of media technology in the everyday lives of day laborers and among marginalized youth.

Grayton Newman
Grayton Newman is an audio producer with over a decade of experience. He studied Media Arts at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, received his BA in Emergent Digital Practices from the University of Denver in 2019, and would later go on to be selected for NPR’s Next Generation Radio class of 2021
Associate Producer
Lucy Richardson
Lucy Richardson, one of the associate producers of Hear, Allá, Presente. A fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of Denver studying psychology and journalism with a concentration in cognitive neuroscience. Outside of academics, she serve as a production associate for Inside Wire: Colorado Prison Radio and creator of EARWORM, a podcast dedicated to Denver’s local music.
Audio Producer
Lisette Zamora-Galarza
Lisette Zamora-Galarza is an audio producer for Here, Allá, Presente. She is a recent graduate from the University of Denver, having both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. In 2021, as an undergraduate student, Lisette received an Outstanding Student Award in Media Studies. She is passionate about telling the stories of immigrants and people of color and elevating their voices on a bigger platform.
