Christof Demont-Heinrich is Associate Professor at the University of Denver in the Department of Media, Film & Journalism Studies. He is especially fascinated by questions of power as they swirl around culture and language and have always been especially interested in the unique, hegemonic position of the United States, and Americans — in particular American elites, meaning Americans with a college education and who have English as their mother, and often only, language — vis-a-vis the global cultural system.
