In this week’s episode of The DU 80208 Podcast, we sat down the DU esports club president, Conrad. If you’re unfamiliar with the concept of esports, Conrad explains it is a group of people getting together to play competitive games. The club has coaches for each game to help train students to prepare for competitions, in which they represent DU. The club currently has teams for League of Legends, Overwatch, and Rocket League. Each team has their own private meeting days, but the club also has weekly Smash Bros tournaments on Tuesdays for everyone. If there is a competitive game you would like to create a team for, all you have to do is get enough people and show interest. From there, the officers will help find a room for your team to practice in and work out logistics in terms of the tournaments you can sign up for. To get involved, you can find their page on Crimson Connect or reach out to them through Instagram or Twitter @duesports. If you would rather talk in person, they are always at the Smash Bros tournaments in ECS Room 358 on Tuesdays from 6:30 to about 9:30. DU esports will take students from any skill level, and they encourage you to come by and try out for a game!
