In this episode of The DU 80208 Podcast, we explore Global Game Jam at DU. Global Game Jam is a worldwide event that takes place during the last weekend of January every year. This year it was from January 31 through February 2. Teams will gather at one of the sites where Global Game Jam is taking place; in this podcast, there are some game previews from the University of Denver site. As of now, there are 934 jam sites located in 118 counties. Every year has a different theme; once that theme is announced, teams have 48 hours to create a game related to the theme. This year the theme was Repair, so the teams went in many different directions. Due to the short amount of time the teams are given, there are bound to be glitches every now and then, which can always spice up the weekend. However, not everyone decides to make a video game. The games can be accessed through the Global Game Jam website. To play the games discussed in this episode, search Denver on the website.
